Tuesday Night in Milford was buzzing with excitement. Once again, the City of Milford went all out for National Night Out. Just about everyone in town was there and having a great time.

Teresa Adams was there running a raffle helping her husband, Officer Michael Adams. “I am running a free raffle and if your ticket is drawn you win a door prize but it is so special no one knows what it is!”

Carlene Hunt Perryman (owner of Milford Antique Mall) had many booths and fun raisers. “This is National Night Out for Milford. We have a lot of things going on. Milford Antique Mall is giving out free t-shirts, and free bubbles for the kids. We have another store opening up next month called Milford Emporium. We are giving away pencils and activity books for the kids, we are doing a bake sale to raise money for our Milford Museum and our park because we are hoping to get that underway very soon. Leah’s Dance Studio opened up last month and they have a booth for the kids to make sand bottles. We are really trying to raise some money to get our town revived. We need a new basketball court and we want to put in a smaller court in our park and then we really want to highlight the town museum.”

Integra Care had a booth and were busy handing out information about Home Health Care and offering blood pressure checks and flu shots.

Another booth was headed up by the Milford Cheerleaders who were selling shirts and hosting a cake walk to raise money for the Milford ISD Cheerleaders.

Jeannie Richardson and Maxine Morris with Milford Titus Women were there raffling off a quilt made by the senior citizens of Milford. Jeannie Richardson explained, “All the money we take in goes right back into the community to help and serve those in need. We are also doing a poster contest for the Angel Tree. First, second, and third place winners will receive a gift certificate, ribbon and their posters will be displayed in town.”

The Milford Angel Tree benefits Milford children in pre-k through 5th grade. Jeannie explained, “The poster contest is for sixth grade through twelfth grade to give the kids not receiving gifts a way to take part in it.” If you are interested in participating in this contest call Jeannie Richards at 972-493-2151.

There were many more booths plus free hotdogs and a big slide and bounce house for the kids.

Standing Stones Praise Band was on hand playing and singing christian music. April Bradley (member of the band) said, “Tonight we set up our equipment and are rocking out a little bit with Praise and Worship Music. A huge crowd, beautiful weather, you just couldn’t ask for anything better.”

And you can’t forget the biggest attraction for the kids which of course was the dunking booth with Milford Police Chief Carlos Phoenix. You had to wait in line for this booth. When asked if he was freezing, Chief Phoenix replied, " Theres warm water in the tub, it is warmer in the water than out of the water. I am thinking, ‘dunk me, dunk me’. We have another great turn out, this is our 6th year. Another year I am in this tank for the kids. Anything for the kids. They are what it is all about."
