Obituary: Dwain Douglas Hobbs, 1935 – 2010
Dwain Douglas Hobbs was born on March 22, 1935 in Valley View, Texas to the late Weldon and Leta Hobbs. On October 9, 2010 he went to be with the lord.
Home Going Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16 at Kiestwood Assembly of God (2716 W. Kiest Blvd, Dallas, Tx 75233)
Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park
Visitation: 7-9:00 p.m. Friday, October 15 at the funeral home
After graduating from Valley View High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps as a tank commander in Korea. He then attended Decatur Baptist College, where he met Danene Fenoglio who became his loving wife of 53 years. Together they raised two great children
Dwain, a very caring and dedicated father, was called to the ministry in 1971 as an ordained minister. He then began traveling across the world, spreading the living word of God. in 1980, he established Youth World Dallas Learning Center for at risk youth.
While passionately serving the Lord, Dwain enjoyed an exciting life of breaking horses and roping calves. He could often be seen cruising on his Harley or strumming his guitars. However, Dwain’s greatest passion was for his family.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are: wife, Danene Hobbs of Italy, Texas; son, Randy Dwain Hobbs and wife Brenda of Bedford, Texas; daughter, Darla Shirley and husband Steve of Arlington, Texas; sister, Patti Wilson and husband Mike of Valley View, Texas; five grandchildren, Rhandi Rae, Holly, and Trey Hobbs and Mac and Stevie D. Shirley; twelve nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
