Round’em up, Cowboy!
Old western clothes, spurs, cowboy boots and bandannas were the costume for the day at Central Baptist Church in Italy, Saturday, October 24-in other words your “Sunday-go-to-meetin’” clothes. The church hosted a city-wide Annual Round Up for the youth and adults. They all had a rip-roaring time at the Rodeo.
The Italy cowboys showed up at the right time. From an old fashion BBQ to barrel races with horses, stick horses that is, around the homemade corral and they threw in a rodeo clown just for good luck. The local church created an exciting event for the youth. Even though the rain came, there was a good turnout at the Stick Horse Rodeo. An out and outer ruckus was made.
Round up Coordinator, Michelle Riddle, took care of all the last minute details for the event with the help of head Bean-Master, Murrie Wainscott, and his cooking helpers from the “chuck wagon” and Karen Mathiowetz on kitchen detail. The guests enjoyed vittles hot from the BBQ pit and a hay ride at the end of the festival.
Each year, Central Baptist Church offers a safe, Christian alternative to regular Halloween activities. Trunk or Treat was offered on Oct. 31st, followed by a concert at the Cornerstone.
