There will be a regular meeting of the Italy City Council today, November 8, 2010 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of the Italy Municipal Building, 105 Main Street. The meeting is open to the public.

Agenda items:

  • Cynthia Montgomery to address the Council requesting the tax ceiling put on property taxes for permanently disabled persons.
  • Discuss and consider necessary action(s) regarding Ordinance No. 10-1108-01, an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Italy, Texas, restricting any increase in the total amount of ad valorem taxes imposed by the City on the residence homestead of an individual who is disabled or who is sixty-five (65) years of age or older, or the surviving spouse of such person if the surviving spouse is fifty-five (55) years of age or older at the time of the person’s death, subject to certain provisions; making findings; providing a severability clause; providing a repealer clause; and providing an effective date.
  • Discuss and consider necessary action(s) regarding the approval of a master agreement for engineering services with Gary Burton Engineering, Inc.
  • Discuss and consider necessary action(s) regarding Ordinance No. 10-1108-02, an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Italy, Texas, repealing Ordinance No. 081013-04, and re-establishing cross-connection/backflow prevention regulations to protect the City’s water supply from contamination or pollution due to plumbing cross-connections or backflow; authorizing fees to recover backflow prevention administrative costs; providing for a penalty; providing a severability clause; providing for governmental immunity; providing for publication; and providing an effective date.
  • Discuss and consider necessary action(s) regarding Resolution No. R 10-1108-01, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Italy, Texas, Designating investment officers of the City; Approving investment policies for the investment of municipal funds; Providing a severability clause; and Providing for an effective date.
