Elizabeth Compton Chenowth died November 28, 2010 in Corsicana, Texas and is survived by one brother W.A. Compton, Jr. and his wife Helen of Irving as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was born Sept 3,1907 in Waxahachie, Texas to William Albert Compton and Sallie Irene (Glass) Compton. Elizabeth was the oldest of 11 childern. She would ride the interuban from Center Point to Italy to attend school. At that time Italy was a one room one teacher school When she finished school she married John L. Chenowth who lived near the Bell Branch community. They married January 15, 1928 and had 3 children. They moved from the Italy area to Levelland, Texas. After her husband John passed away she moved to Corsicana to be closer to her family.

Her husband and three children Betty Jean, John L. Jr. and James Earl preceded her in death. She was also the sister of Everett, Estelle, Charlie, Byron, Berlin, Mable (Compton) Watson and Helen Jean (Compton) Penn. Two twin brothers died at birth.

Services were Nov. 30,2010 Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas. Interment was Dec.1,2010 in Levelland, Texas with Rev. Grayson Glass officiating the service.
