Bettye L. Thompson, age 83, of Italy, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. She was born July 10, 1927 in Frost, Texas to Lewis Franklin and Ocie Eline (Moore) Neel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Italy and the Eastern Star. Bettye was a loving wife, sister and aunt.

Survivors include one brother, Earl Max Neel of Weatherford; 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fairace A. Thompson and one brother, John Frank Neel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral services will be 1PM Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Reverend Ronnie Dabney officiating. Interment will follow at the Dresden Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Neel, Lee Neel, Nicholas Neel, Eddie Thompson and Mike Thompson.
