Obituary: Martha Green, 1943 – 2011
Martha Green, 67, passed away at the Ennis Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Martha was born in Avalon, Texas on August 2, 1943 to James Roland and Bennett Lee (Campbell) Beets. She grew up in Avalon and graduated from Avalon High School in 1961. After graduation she attended North Texas State University were she received a Masters of Elementary Education Degree. On September 2, 1984 she married J. Hugh Green and they made their home in Ennis.
She worked for the Italy ISD for sixteen years teaching Kindergarten and for the Ennis ISD for fifteen year also teaching Kindergarten. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Retired Teachers Association, Garden Club of Ennis, Kiwanis Club and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, J. Hugh Green, of Ennis; two sons: Jeff Frazier, and his wife, Jeanette, of Waxahachie and Matt Coker, and his wife, Angie, of Red Oak; two daughters: Julie, and her husband, Dale Crownover, of Italy and Judy Janek, of Ennis; six grandchildren: Erika, and her husband, Gage Roland, Ryan Crownover, Dan Crownover, Lindsey Janek, Colt Frazier and Jake Frazier; and one great-granddaughter, London Roland. Martha was also blessed with three step-children: Kelley Tidwell, of Ennis, Kirby Green, of Leander and Jalea Green, of Red Oak; seven step-grandchildren: Corey, Kari, Kyle, Dilon, Jacob, Dalton and Aleena; and five step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her Life will take place on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 4 p.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis. Interment will be in Hughes Cemetery in Avalon, under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
