The varsity Lady Gladiator volleyball team will begin their game against Waxahachie Advantage starting at 4:30 p.m. inside Italy Coliseum today, August 19. The varsity Lady Gladiators went to a game 5 tiebreaker against the Lady Polar Bears on Tuesday with the Frost squad sneaking away with the win. Despite a towering height advantage favoring the Lady Gladiators, Frost was forced to use their quickness to their advantage. “They weren’t as tall as us, but they were scrappy,” said Italy’s, Kaitlyn Rossa, of the Lady Polar Bears’ abilities.

Also on this past Tuesday, the Italy JV team won big against Frost, winning the first two sets of a best 2-out of-3. Paola Mata, Paige Westbrook, Kelsey Nelson and Kortnei Johnson helped lead Italy’s JV team to a quick victory. The Italy JV team will have the night off with the Italy Varsity being the only volleyball game scheduled this evening.
