Mary Alice Boyd, age 90, of Italy, Texas passed away, Saturday, September 17, 2011. Mary was born in Italy, Texas on August 30, 1921 to I.G. and Ruthie (Jones) Harris. She was a lifelong member of Park Presbyterian Church in Italy, where she also served as the church secretary.

In addition, Mary served on the Italy Cemetery Association as treasurer. For many years, Mary worked as the bookkeeper for Hyles Home Supply and after her retirement, she stayed busy working at the local flower shop. She had many talents from gardening to cooking to sewing and she also loved nature and the outdoors where she enjoyed watching the many birds and squirrels in her back yard. She will be greatly missed by the ones she left behind.

Left to cherish her memory are: son, Mike Boyd and wife Cathy of Italy; grandson, Christopher Boyd of College Station; granddaughter, Brooke Valdez and husband Nick of Italy; two nieces, Alice Compton and Sue Sanders; two nephews, Lee Harris and Bill Graves and special friends, Mae Shelby and Paula Harris.                                     .
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barney Boyd; one brother, Jack Harris; one sister, Billie Ruth Graves.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Reverend Jim Brown officiating.  Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Jack Graves, Ronnie Hyles, Rodney Guthrie, Robert Owen, Dennis Janek and Jerry Ridlehuber.
