Obituary: Cecil Chambers, Jr., 1931 – 2011

Cecil Chambers, Jr. of Richardson, a former resident of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, November 04, 2011 in Richardson. 

Cecil was raised in Italy, Texas where he graduated from high school in 1948. He joined the US Air Corp upon graduation. In 1949, He and Bobbie Lou Price were married. He served in the Air Force through 1952 and the reserves until 1968 when he was honorably discharged. In 1952 he went to work for Texas Power and Light Company in Waxahachie. He continued to work for TP&L until his retirement in 1985. He continued to work through his retirement at multiple jobs including his favorite for the last 8 years as a crossing guard for the Heights Elementary School in Richardson.

He was the son of Cecil and Rena Bell Chambers, and brother to Wayne Chambers who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Lou and their children Diane Swett and Bobby Cecil & Regina Chambers; two sisters, Rena Faye Tapp and Nancy Ayers; two brothers, J.W. and Hubert Chambers; three grandchildren, Brandon & Heather Chambers and Rebecca Chambers and Jake Swett; three great grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, and Logan.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, November 06, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
