Italy NHS sponsored food drive for local food pantry
A truckload of food and a passel of boys unloading boxes means only one thing this time of year. The NHS food drive for the local food pantry. Tina Richards, sponsor of the IHS National Honor Society, helped organize the food drive with Stafford Elementary.
Several hundred pounds of non-perishable food was brought into the Italy Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry this week. An organized food drive from National Honor Society and Stafford Elementary means that the people in this area will have food during the Christmas delivery. IMA always delivers extra food the Saturday before Christmas and this year will be no different.
At last count, there were over 70 families in the Italy, Avalon and Milford areas that are registered for the food pantry.
A local donator gave enough turkeys for the families to have for Christmas as well.
With the spirit of Christmas and the compassion of others, there will always be room for one more. Just like the Fishes and the Loaves story from the Bible, God provides what is needed.
