Italy’s varsity girl’s head coach, Randy Parks, watched his team like a hawk last Friday night. The chance between winning and losing was slim and the Lady Gladiators worked hard to achieve the win. The Lady Rattlers pulled out their snake oil and took Italy by surprise.

The Lady Gladiators started strong in their contest against Tolar. The first and second quarter saw minimal opposition. First quarter score was 10 Tolar – 8 Italy. The Lady Gladiators gained momentum in the second quarter and ended the half in a close lead 26 to 25. Their position was lost when the Lady Rattlers came back and scored 20 points to Italy’s 6 in the third. The final score put a check in Tolar’s win column with 57 points to Italy’s 44.

Coach Parks is proud of his team and of their progression, “We are making better decisions on the floor and working together as a team. We played two teams in the top twenty in the state polls last week, Kerens and Tolar. We have played some talented teams this year and have held our own against them. We are looking forward to starting district this week and seeing how we have progressed as a team.”

Next game scheduled for the Lady Gladiators is in Axtell, Friday, December 16 beginning at 5:00pm.
