Italy’s JV Gladiators play solid basketball in preparation for district play

The Italy JV Gladiator boys squad (5-5 against JV opponents) recently competed in the championship game of the Ferris JV Boys Basketball Tournament but couldn’t quite overtake the Red Oak Life Mustangs in the tournament’s finale. The Mustangs held on for a 43-40 win to take the top prize and defeat Italy’s JV for the third time this season.
During the previous week, Italy’s JV finished in 3rd place during the Red Oak Life JV Boys Basketball Tournament after beating the Cedar Hill Longhorns in the consolation game. Head coach Josh Ward and assistant Larry Mayberry, Sr. have the team pointed in the right direction with Italy playing better and better basketball with each dribble and drive.
