On March 2, 2012 Tara Wallis (freshman) and Kaytlyn Bales (senior) competed in the Region 11 Powerlifting meet in Canton. Both ladies beat their personal records and represented Italy High School with pride with each of them placing in their weight division and one advancing to the State competition this coming week in Corpus Christi.

Kaytlyn Bales will be making her fourth trip to State!

Kaytlyn lifted 320 lbs. for both deadlift and squat, and 190 lbs. for bench; Tara beat her personal records with 90 lbs. on bench, 145 lbs. on squat, and 175 lbs. on deadlift. Kaytlyn placed 1st in the region and 1st in her weight class. Tara placed 7th in her weight class.

“I would like to give a shout-out to my coaches, the Richters, for being so awesome and inspiring, but most of all, if it wasn’t for my dad always being there and constantly pushing me to do my best, I would never have made it here. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’” – Kaytlyn Bales

“I’m very proud of my accomplishments and look forward to next year.” – Tara Wallis

Congratulations to both Lady Gladiators and good luck to Kaytlyn at State!
