Milford High School NHS members participate in BBBS Bowl-athon in Waxahachie
On Saturday, March 3, two teams of bowlers from the Milford Chapter of the National Honor Society participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowlathon in Waxahachie. The eleven students involved had a goal of raising $1000 through pledges of support from faculty, family, and friends. All monies raised benefited the Ellis County chapter of BBBS.
The students exceeded their goal, raising a total of $1,527. Team Victorious Secret was the most successful, with $798 in pledges, with Team G-Force a close second with $729 in pledges.
“This was the first year for us to participate in this event,” said NHS sponsor Alton Chambers. “I am really pleased with the enthusiasm the students showed and the support they received from contributors.”
NHS students participating were Genia Armstrong, Russell Clingenpeel, Kieshundra Cook, Cheyenne Frank, Brittany Goss, Cristina Muniz, Jairus Russell, and Rachel Strange. They were joined by NHS-eligible students Jacobe Essary, Aryan Jordan, and Trestiny Williams and sponsor Phyllis Chambers.
