Tuesday afternoon it was raining to beat all in Italy. There were tornadoes in Dallas and surrounding areas but that did not stop the Stafford Elementary PTO members and the Italy community from coming out and supporting the kids at the hamburger supper.

The Stafford Elementary cafeteria was filled with kids, parents and teachers all out having fun eating hamburgers while supporting the school.

Not only did they have delicious hamburgers to eat but the kids got to hug the Easter Bunny that showed up to delight the kids. The Easter Bunny (Jason Miller, principal) said, “This is just another way the PTO is showing support for the school. In a big budget crisis they have really stepped it up to help us out with instructional materials and items the teachers needed. They have really been a great help to us, to the community and they are setting a great example for other members in the community. These are the types of things we want to do to benefit the students in the future.”

The PTO were able to get donations from local businesses for a raffle. Everyone was filling out forms in hopes of winning some of the great prizes. Texas Smoke House donated a big basket filled with all the Texas Smoke House goodies in it. An Easter Basket was donated by the South family. A very fashionable purse from Itzy’s Fashions, blinged up flip flops from Bling and Bloom, flashlights from OK Lumber, 5 quarts of oil and oil filter donated by Italy Auto, and some very cute bows by Rana Ramirez made up all the awesome prizes people were winning.

Tessa South (PTO president) was thrilled with the great turnout. She said, “Today is the Stafford PTO Easter Hamburger Supper. It is going much better than I thought. There are so many more people here than I thought there would be. Even though we did have to line up in the hallway for the tornado watch we still persevered and had a wonderful show of support from the community.”

Ashley Pajak (PTO treasurer) said, “Tonight is going great, much better than expected. We were on the edge of maybe having to cancel the event but we were already set up and we were really committed to seeing this be a success and I am glad it is.”

Once again, it was a good time at Stafford Elementary!
