My name is Annita Shrader Johnston and I am asking for your vote for Ellis County Tax Assessor Collector in the upcoming election on May 29, 2012.

I was raised in Avalon, Texas and am a lifelong resident of Ellis County. I have been married to Randy Johnston for 24 years. Randy proudly serves as an engineer for the Waxahachie Fire Department and also is the owner of Waxahachie Automatic Gate. We have two children; our daughter Amy and her husband John and our son Derek.

If elected, my first priority would be to reorganize the office so that it is more user-friendly for the citizens of Ellis County. I want the offices to run more efficiently to reduce wait times and am committed to see that every employee in the tax assessor’s office is cross trained to work more efficiently. I will be present and available to all taxpayers of Ellis County and willing to hear concerns regarding their personal tax situation or to help solve any tax issues that arise.

With the help of the dedicated tax office employees, we will strive to increase and produce quality customer service. The first thing on my agenda will be to open the drive-thru windows at the Waxahachie and Ennis locations. These windows have been paid for by the Citizens of Ellis County and are a service they deserve. The fact that the new facilities have this service and are not being used at this time is not adequately serving our citizens and is unacceptable.

I will also work to see that we continue to make forward progress by using available technology to be more efficient, such as having the ability to pay by credit/debit card.

I look forward to using my skills and knowledge to effectively manage the Ellis County Tax Assessor’s office more efficiently. As previously stated, you, the Citizens of Ellis County are my top priority and I will ensure that customer service is a priority of all Tax office employees. If elected I would hope this office would be known as the most professional, efficient and friendliest office in the county.

I have worked over 20 years in the title industry. With this prior experience as an office manager, I have the insight to see the changes that need to be made and I will bring an innovative approach to the job. As an elected official, I would be a working supervisor and will work alongside my employees to provide better customer service for all citizens of Ellis County.

I would appreciate your vote of confidence for Ellis County Tax Assessor Collector on May 29, 2012. Early voting is May 14-May 25

Annita will be at the Uptown for lunch this Friday if anyone would like to visit with her.
