Local Entrepreneurs make the Channel 10 News
Patty Hernandez (Avalon) and Alice Compton (Italy), creators of Patty’s Perfect Pocket will be on Channel 10 News out of Waco. They will be interviewed about their cell phone pockets that attach to belt loops, and undergarments.
They came up with this idea when they were wearing clothes that did not have pockets and recognized a need to have a place to keep your cell phone other than pockets and a purse. They have a patent on their invention and have been selling their product for about a year and a half.
On April 14th and 15th they attended the Shopapalooza craft show where they were selling their pockets. Shopapaloosa is a new organization for inventors. It was formed by two moms in order to help promote women’s ideas and businesses. As a vendor when you first arrive at the craft show you are asked to fill out a card describing your products, which Hernandez and Compton did.
Their card was pulled out of the “hat” and they were then contacted by Emily Lazzetti with KWTX Channel 10 News and asked if they could interview them on their show, _Mom’s Everyday_, to tell them about how they came up with their idea and to talk about “Patty’s Perfect Pocket.”
The show will air on the 15th of May at 4:00 PM.
