San Antonio, Texas – Texas Brigades is proud to announce that Meagan Hooker, a sixteen year old from Italy, Texas, has been selected as a member of the 2012-2013 W.I.L.D. (Wildlife Intensive Leadership Development) class.  

W.I.L.D. is a 15 month intensive leadership development program designed to help young adults, ages 16-24, develop and nurture skills in wildlife conservation, leadership, teamwork, policy-making, and many other important life skills.

The program, through a highly competitive process, accepted fifteen students who have previously participated in the Texas Brigades Wildlife Leadership Camps.

During the 15 months, participants will meet at locations across the state of Texas to participate in leadership building activities, discuss natural resource and wildlife conservation issues, while also focusing on the legislative processes that may impact these issues.  

Members will also serve on the Cadet Advisory Board which will involve participating in one of the six Brigade summer camps as a mentor to a group of cadets and advising the Texas Brigade Board of Directors regarding cadet-related matters.  

This group of young people was selected due to their strong leadership abilities, their interest in wildlife conservation, and their desires to influence our next generation of youth in a positive manner.  

The Texas Brigades is a 501©(3) organization and their mission is to educate and empower youth with leadership skills and knowledge in wildlife, fisheries, and land stewardship to become conservation ambassadors for a sustained natural resource legacy.
