Silent Auction being held to raise money for Andrea Hooker and her family
There will be a silent auction held in honor of Andrea Hooker and her family during the Italy Gladiators home game versus the Hubbard Jaguars at Willis Field on Friday, September, 21, at 7:30 p.m. The Silent Auction will last for three-quarters. The highest bidders will receive their gift items during the fourth quarter.
On August 28, Andrea Hooker received a heart transplant that both saved and forever changed her and her family’s life.
Andrea is the wife of Dallas Firefighter Jerry Hooker and they have three amazing daughters that attend Italy ISD. Kimberly is a 5th grader at Stafford Elementary while Amber, a freshman, and Meagan, a senior, both attend Italy High School. Active in the community, Andrea’s daughters have bravely continued to participate during school functions despite Andrea being in the hospital. If there’s a band instrument to play or a pom-pom that needs shaking, you can bet one of the Hooker girls will be there to support their fellow students and our town.
Now the Hooker family needs your support. You don’t have to carry a tune or do the splits, but everyone in the community is being asked to join “Team Hooker” and make monetary donations on behalf of Andrea. The medical bills the Hooker Family faces is staggering. Andrea’s medicine alone, that she is required to take for the rest of her life, will cost $1,500.00 per month and is not covered by insurance.
Therefore, everyone is being asked to join “Team Hooker” and make donations inside First State Bank of Italy, First State Bank of Waxahachie, First State Bank of Rice and First State Bank of Ennis over the next two weeks leading up to the Hubbard game.
