In The Electric Mist With Confederate Dead by James Lee Burke

This is an older book, one of Burke’s earliest. It’s a great story with a complicated plot line, many interesting characters ranging from the very good, to the bad, to the purely evil. Reading this author leaves you breathless; it’s like a Wagnerian opera set on Bayou Teche, with passion, greed, love and ghostly presences making themselves felt across the ages.
