Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Jackson Adair, 1930 — 2013

Mary Elizabeth Jackson Adair, age 82, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Baylor Regional Hospital in Plano, Texas.

Mary was born October 19, 1930 at her family home in Slay, Texas to E.O. and Eula (Hollingsworth) Jackson. Mary graduated from Italy High School in 1948 and attended Hillsboro Junior College and Mary Hardin Baylor at Belton where she graduated in 1951with a degree in Elementary Education. She eventually received her Masters Degree at SMU.

Donald Adair and Mary were married June 7, 1952 at Central Baptist Church in Italy.

During her career Mary taught in Panama City, Florida, and in Dallas at Stephen Foster Elementary for 27 years where she retired in 1982. She loved children and to teach children not only the basic subjects but how to behave in life. Mary loved to explore in their travel trailer and they made many trips to different states. Making a profession of faith early in life Mary enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing solos at church. She was a beautiful lady, friend to everyone, a wonderful companion and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by many.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Don of Plano; her daughter, Luann Glatch and husband William; 3 grandchildren, Laurel, William IV and Adeline, all of Frisco and many other relatives and close friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Pastor Ronnie Dabney officiating. Interment will follow at Italy cemetery.
