Ennis — Dr. John Arkusinski has officially opened his new practice in Ennis today after relocating to be associated with Ennis Regional Medical Center. Ennis Family Medicine, changing its name from Italy Family Medicine upon moving, is now located on the hospital grounds located off Highway US-287 North down from the Highway 34 crossing, just a short drive from Italy.

Along with, “Dr. John”, as he is affectionately known, long-time staff member Jeff Cummings will be joining Dr. John at Ennis Family Medicine.
“The city of Italy and surrounding communities have benefited greatly by Dr. John being here. As a community, we are saddened to see him leave town but we are thankful his new office will be located so close, over in Ennis,” commented David South. “Dr. John’s decision is understandable with Italy’s shrinking population and with not enough new businesses setting up shop in our town to keep his practice going here. I personally encourage everyone to continue receiving quality health care from Dr. John and recommend that all new patients go to him for their medical needs.”
“The biggest factors forcing us to relocate are mostly administrative based issues. My dear wife, will no longer have to battle with insurance companies each night until midnight with Ennis Regional Medical Center now handling the bulk of our paperwork. This will allow us to have more time together and maybe take a real vacation instead of a long weekend,” smiled Dr. John who went on to add, "I have benefitted tremendously from being a part of Italy. I love the people here and I am so glad I was able, and that I can continue, to provide small town care, like I grew up with, to this area.

Dr. John will continue his Tuesday Morning rounds as a Medical Director at Trinity Mission of Italy from 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. each Friday.
