Italy National Honor Society inductions scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, 2013

The High School’s annual induction and installation of new officers’ ceremony for the Italy Chapter of the National Honor society will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Italy High School Auditorium.

To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 90 in their core classes. Additionally, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Members of the 2015 class were evaluated by faculty council.

Leadership is based on the student’s participation in community or school activities, or election to an office. To meet the service requirement, the student must have been active in service projects in the school and the community. Character is measured in terms of integrity, behavior, ethics, and cooperation with both students and faculty. Citizenship is measured by the student’s participation in civic- related organizations and activities.

Students are screened by a faculty council consisting of Sharan Farmer, Casey Holden, Jesus Perez, Josh Ward, and Andi Windham. This year, thirteen students are being considered for membership.
