Stafford Student Performs in ‘The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring’
Sydney Lowenthal (Stafford 6th grader) is no stranger to the stage. Syney has performed in many plays such as Fiddler on the Roof, Aesop’s Foibles, Bye, Bye Birdie, Substitute Fairy Godmother and Wizard of OZ. Her next play is The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring written by Janie Downey Maxwell in which she plays Barbecue Barbie.
Sydney explained, “My character, Barbecue Barbie, looks like a barbie doll but doesn’t act like one. I was originally cast as a ‘Nancy Drew’ person and when that person dropped out I was cast as Barbecue Barbie. I really like my character.”
When asked what the play was about Sydney replied, “The royal ring is missing and the Queen is furious. She cannot sleep therefore she is making everyone’s life miserable. The maids and butlers are looking everywhere and can not find it. The Queen calls upon her royal detectives to find it and then the adventure begins.”
You will be delighted with the crazy antics of all of the colorful characters as they go on many adventures to find the royal ring.
