The Italy Athletic Department welcomes fans who would like to attend the Midnight Madness Volleyball and Football practices on Monday, August 5th, with both practices starting precisely at 12:01 a.m.
The Lady Gladiator Volleyball Team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Morgan Mathews, will begin their season under Italy Coliseum’s moon-shaped dome. The Gladiator Football players, with first-year head coach and athletic director Charles Tindol leading the way, will take Willis Field and practice under the stars.
Prior to the event, Mathews will meet with volleyball parents at 7:30 p.m. and Coach Tindol will meet with football parents at 8:00 p.m.
Once 12:01 a.m. strikes, volleyball team members will run drills and work on offensive and defensive sets while the football players will max out on bench before being timed in the 40 yard dash and in the shuttle drill, test their vertical leaps and then run offensive formations.
Coach Mathews and Coach Tindol appreciate the support from Gladiator Nation and hope everyone will take advantage of getting an early glimpse of our kids in action!
