The Rancher’s Daughter-Western Boutique in Milford
This past Saturday was the grand opening to Milford’s new western boutique, ‘The Rancher’s Daughter. Elizabeth and Lance Finch were the first two customers for the grand opening. They were amazed at all the wonderful merchandise inside and said, “This place is so cute. I hope this will bring in new businesses for Milford. We hope it does well and new businesses will follow.”
The Rancher’s Daughter is a high end western wear shop right in Milford. When you enter the store you are greeted with a big sign saying, “Howdy Y’all.” And from there on in you are drawn into the rest of the inviting space filled with boots, western clothing, candles, western hats, sunglasses, belts and jewelry. And they are sporting the names of Cinch, Johnny Ringo Boots, Pro Girl, Twisted X Boots and Bex.
So now when you have a “hankerin” for some cute, stylish and name brand western wear and accessories you don’t have to drive all the way to Dallas, or Waxhachie any more! That’s right, you just have to drive five to ten minutes down the road and go shopping for those fancy new jeans and dancing boots!
Ashlyn Rossa is the proprietor of Rancher’s Daughter and is very excited about her new store. She grew up in Milford, attended Italy ISD for several years and graduated high school from Cornerstone private school before it became a charter school. She has her associates degree in Animal Science from Odessa Jr. College and is working on her bachelor’s degree in business at Tarleton State University.
She grew up in Milford and spent her time riding horses and entering ‘cutting horse’ contests. She still competes in cutting horse competitions, in fact she just got back from one in Las Vegas.
I asked Ashlyn what gave her the idea to open a western store and she replied, “I think it is in my blood. My grandmother, Janell Rose, owns one of the largest western stores named J&H Boots and Jeans, in the West Monroe, Louisiana area. I spent many summers with her helping in her store and I think her passion rubbed off on me.”
Ashlyn’s goal for her store is to expand her store. She said, “I want to bring good service and help Milford grow into a ‘hoppin’ town.”
She went on to say, “If you don’t see something you were looking for just let us know or give us a call and I can special order anything you need.”
