The Italy City Council approved an ordinance (#13-0926-01) adopting and approving the fiscal year 2012-2013 operating budget to ratify final expenditures made from Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2013.
The ordinance basically closed the budget for accounting purposes. Dennis Perkins Jr. made the motion with a second from Greg Richards. The motion passed unanimously.
Prior to this action, the council approved the transfer of $30,000 from the general fund to the water/sewer fund. The motion was made by Frank Jackson with a second from Perkins. The motion passed unanimously.
They also approved final bills for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. The motion was made by Richards with a second by Bruce Utley. The motion passed unanimously.
Jackson thanked the department heads for making this year’s budget work. Utley thanked Teri Murdock, city secretary/administrator for the hours she put into the budget.
Mayor Pro Tem Rodney Guthrie led the meeting in the absence of Mayor James Hobbs.
