Not only does Jonathan Nash (Stafford Elementary principal) have a passion for kids, but he also has a passion for theater. He has performed in more than 20 productions. And now he is playing the part of King Maximillian Godfrey Ladislaus Leopold Sidney Frederick John in the Waxahachie Community Theatre’s production of Cinderella.

“I began acting in High School. My first theatre experience was Footloose. I was taking a radio and television class and Footloose was the show we put on. It was fun. I have also directed One Act Play at the high school level when I taught in Venus,” explained Nash.

He went on to say, “I began my community theatre life in my hometown of Henderson, Texas. I have served on the board of directors as the facilities manager and also just as a trustee. My first show with Henderson Civic Theatre was Miracle on 34th Street. I played the part of Mr. Macy. Each year I always enjoy participating in these short, fun shows.”

Other shows Nash has participated in are : Bye Bye Birdie, In the Woods, A Piece of my Heart, The King and I, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dream Coat, South Pacific, Oliver and Guys and Dolls.

His current role in Cinderella is the part of the King. The role requires comedy, acting, singing and dancing. Nash commented, “I am looking forward to creating this believable character. The cast and crew will work long hours to create a fabulous show. In my 20’s I played the part of Cinderella’s prince and now in my 40’s I play the Prince’s Dad. I think going from a Prince to a King is not bad!”
