Cleo Vernon Clingan, age 60, of Italy, Texas went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday October 29, 2013. He was born on July 26, 1953 in Independence, Kansas to Cleo L. Clingan and the late Bobbie Kimbro Clingan.

Vernon was a graduate of Italy High School, class ’72. On June 6, 1975 he married the love of his life Miss Kae Finley and they celebrated over 38 years together before his passing.

Vernon was a very hard working and talented man; a master craftsman and a handyman. As said by his family, “there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t make or fix.” Not only was he a glazier by trade, for many years he was a volunteer fire fighter. Vernon touched many people with his talents and left impressions that would last a life time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his beloved wife Kae Clingan of Italy; son, David Lynn Clingan and wife Ellie; father, Cleo Clingan; he was known as Papa to his adoring grandchildren, Caleb and Haley; uncle to Dana Buchanan, Haley and Amanda; brother in law, to Stevan and Kim Varner and their daughter Jill Varner and Kip and Renee Finley and their son James Lee Finley and his wife Emily; special friends, Darrel and Donna Roseman as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6PM to 8PM Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral service will be 3:30PM Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.
