Italy — Pass the box of tissues. It’s always difficult when our school’s seniors play their final home game in their respective sport, knowing they’re about to experience many last moments. For senior Lady Gladiators Monserrat Figueroa, Taylor Turner and Paige Westbrook their final home volleyball game marked the last time they would wear their uniform and the last times they would dig, bump and spike the ball for Italy High school.

They will, however, carry with them the memories they each shared with their teammates and coaches. They’ll remember the cheers of the fans and the strategies in the huddles. They’ll remember the laughs, the celebrations, the good times and, yes, even the tough times. They will remember it all.

With those memories, will come a feeling of accomplishment and pride. Knowing they represented “Old Italy High” with class and gave it their all, even when they had nothing left to give.

And to Monseratt, Taylor and Paige, thank you for all the amazing things you have done for the Lady Gladiator Volleyball program and good luck with the remainder of your senior year together. And know this, “We love you so!”

We will remember…
