Itasca — Enjoy photos from Tuesday night’s JV games between Italy and Itasca. The JV Lady Gladiators were up against it after losing several players to the varsity ranks. Despite their reduced roster, our girls played their hearts out against their rivals but were unable to make up ground after Itasca had built a commanding lead.

Guards Alex Minton and Ashlyn Jacinto played well as did forwards Lizzy Garcia and Vanessa Cantu who were active on both ends. Oleshia Anderson was a presence in the paint but Itasca had Italy outnumbered and was able to outpoint our girls, 58-40.

The JV Gladiators, led by guards Eric Carson and Kenneth Norwood, Jr., forwards Ryan Connor and Mason Womack and center David De La Hoya, helped Italy over power Itasca throughout. Joshua Cryer was a threat from long range and Dylan McCasland, Hunter Ballard and Michael Moore provided valuable minutes for JV head coach Jon Cady. Newcomer Khumbo Bailey was a big part of the win as well with Italy winning easily, 52-40.

Go Italy!
