Italy — Italy ISD athletic director and head football coach Charles Tindol is proud to announce further All-State honors awarded to four senior members of the 2013 Gladiator football team:

TaMarcus Sheppard #10, 6-0, 170, Sr.:
Sheppard was selected as both a Honorable Mention All-State Quarterback and as a Honorable Mention All-State Linebacker to the 2013 63rd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class A All-State Football Team.

Sheppard becomes the 58th Gladiator football player to earn a spot on the coveted Italy Gladiator Football’s All-State Golden Hall of Fame!

Darol Mayberry #58, 6-0, 270, Sr.:
Mayberry was selected as a Honorable Mention All-State Offensive Tackle to the 2013 63rd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class A All-State Football Team.

Mayberry becomes the 59th Gladiator football player to earn a spot on the coveted Italy Gladiator Football’s All-State Golden Hall of Fame!

Mayberry was also named as a 2013 2nd Team All-Central Texas Offensive Tackle by Smoaky.com.

Trevon Robertson #3, 6-3, 170, Sr.:
Robertson was selected as a Honorable Mention All-State Defensive Back to the 2013 63rd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class A All-State Football Team.

Robertson was also selected as a 2013 2nd Team All-State Defensive Back by TheOldCoach.com.

Robertson previously became the 57th Gladiator football player added to Italy Gladiator Football’s All-State Golden Hall of Fame after being named as a Honorable Mention All-Sate Defensive Back to the 2013 Class 1A Associated Press All-State Football Team.

Zain Byers #50, 6-0, 235, Sr.:
Byers was selected as a 2013 1st Team All-State Defensive Lineman by TheOldCoach.com.

Byers became the 56th Gladiator football player added to Italy Gladiator Football’s All-State Golden Hall of Fame upon the conclusion of last season. At that time, he was named as a Honorable Mention All-State Defensive Lineman to the 2012 62nd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class A All-State Football Team.

Byers again earned All-State honors immediately following this season after being named as a 2nd Team All-State Defensive End to the 2013 Class 1A Associated Press All-State Football Team.

Once again, congratulations to Coach Tindol, his coaching staff and to the entire Gladiator football team who finished 2013 as the undisputed 6-1D1 Class A District Champions, for the second consecutive season, and for reaching the playoffs as automatic Bi-Disitict Champions and eventually becoming Area Finalists.
