Italy High School spring band concert to act as recording session
Italy ISD invites you to the annual spring band concert on Tuesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm at the George Scott Gymnasium. Students from grades 6th-12th grade will be presenting their contest selections as well as some additional music to display their talents.
This concert will also serve as a Texas Music Educator’s Association Honor Band recording session. Selections from the combined middle school groups and the varsity band will be recorded live for Honor Band submission. The Honor Band contest is a contest that schools are eligible to compete in every two years, based on classification. Submitted recordings are judged by a panel of 5 judges at the region, area, and state level to select each classification’s State Honor Band winner. The winning band is invited to perform in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educator’s Association Convention in February.
Because recordings must be judged anonymously, Mr. Perez and Mr. Graves request that those in attendance hold all applause until the recording is stopped. Any talking, clapping, cell phone ringing or any other distracting noises could invalidate the students’ Honor Band entry.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you next Tuesday evening.
