The Italy Fire Department and the Italy Police Department would like to say a special thank you to the Italy residents and those traveling through downtown Italy last Friday afternoon for supporting the Shop with a Hero program.

The fill the boot campaign was very successful. Because of everyone’s generosity, the departments raised over $900.

The money that was raised will benefit Italy’s Shop with a Hero program. Students are selected by Italy ISD to travel to Walmart with Police and Fire personnel. The youth get to spend the money that is raised to buy things for themselves and Christmas gifts for their family members. Then they come back to Italy to wrap the gifts and share lunch with their heroes.
