After graduation practice last Friday, the IHS senior class headed with big appetites to Central Baptist Church for the annual Senior meal.

CBC has hosted the event for several years and the graduating seniors look forward to the Mexican pile-on meal every year.

“We would like to welcome you to Central Baptist Church,” said Sean Horton, Youth Minister. “We hope you enjoy your meal and we have a survival game for you to participate in.”

The graduates enjoyed making pile-ons with tortilla chips, taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, guacamole, sour cream and salsa. they enjoyed cupcakes and special cookies for dessert.

Karen Mathiowetz rewarded Cody Medrano with a $10 bill for being the last one to pass through the food line. She explained that Matthew 19:30 stated that whoever is first will be last and whoever is last will be first. She said that sometimes being first does not pay off but patience does.

She then offered a $10 bill to the first graduate that could tell her what year she graduated from Italy High School. After many wrong answers, Darol Mayberry finally guessed the right answer of 1968.

Then the class members attempted to answer survival questions such as what should you do if you are in the area of a volcano eruption and what should you do if there was a microwave fire. Several of the answers given caused many laughs from the group.

Central Baptist Church extends their congratulations and best wishes to the IHS Class of 2014.
