The annual George Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund barbecue dinner will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Italy High School Cafeteria. Cost for the meal is $12 per person. The meal will be catered by Bubba’s of Ennis.

Former Italy ISD Superintendent George Scott started the scholarship in 1986 with his own money. His dream of helping Italy students attain a higher education after high school didn’t become a reality until after his death in l991. Since 1993, there have been 75 scholarships awarded with 13 of those currently active. Tax deductible donations to honor or memorialize loved ones are received continually.
