The Italy Fire Department and Italy Police Department are asking for the community’s help to raise funds for the annual Shop with a Hero.

Members of both departments will be on Main Street in Italy this Friday, November 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in a Fill the Boot campaign.

“We hope the Italy community will come out on Friday and donate to Shop with a Hero,” said local firefighter Brad Chambers. “The money raised will help give several Stafford Elementary students a great Christmas.”

Stafford students are selected by school personnel to participate each year. The students ride to Wal Mart in Waxahachie in squad cars and personnel from both departments help them shop for themselves and their family members for Christmas.

They enjoy lunch with department personnel and wrapping the gifts.

Both departments would like to thank everyone for their support.
