Gladiator Football earns 4 First Team All-District players and 12 Second Teamers

Despite an overall 3-7, 3-4 record, the 2014 Italy Gladiators went from wondering if they would ever score to being one win away from a chance at the playoffs. Yes, it was an interesting season with Italy moving into a new district with 8 different schools competing for the top prize. It was, however, a season full of productive growth for Italy’s younger players who were relied on heavily to help the Gladiators to a 5th place finish in district.
The Gladiators will bid farewell to 9 seniors including Cody Boyd, John Byers, Sam Corley, John Escamilla, Ty Fernandez, Kyle Fortenberry, Jack Hernandez, Coby Jeffords and Colin Newman who will be leaving some pretty big cleats to fill.
