Italy — Taking advantage of good team chemistry, the Italy JV Gladiators have been playing well this season but were tested at home by an equally talented Itasca team.

Italy broke a 19-19 tie to lead 21-19 at the break but the game knotted back up at 25-all in the third-period. Itasca surged ahead from there and held on to win 42-33.

Notable efforts were turned in by center James Walton and forward Anthony Lusk. Joshua Cryer was effective shooting, Jorge Galvan handled the ball expertly and Garrett Janek provided defensive pressure.

JV Girls Action:
The JV Lady Gladiators, under JV head coach Tina Richards, also did a number on Itasca by winning 24-13 in front of their home crowd. Lizzy Garcia led all scores with 9-points with all her points coming from beyond the arc.

Alex Minton-Felder accounted for 7-points in the win while T’Keyah Pace, better known for her defensive prowess, added 6-points for the Lady Gladiators. Annie Perry and Vanessa Cantu did their best work on the defensive side of the ball as well, especially in the rebounding department.

With teammate Brooke DeBorde on the injured list, the Lady Gladiators played with five and won with five. Nice job, Ladies!
