JV Gladiators defeat Frost and dedicate the win to teammate Byron Lusk, Jr.
Frost — The JV Gladiators played well enough to lead the JV Frost Polar Bears 18-12 at halftime but the Polar Bears roared back in the third-period to pull within 1-point of Italy, 24-23.
The stage was set for an exciting finish. With head coach Bobby Campbell driving them, Italy’s JV poured in 17-points in the fourth-period to edge out Frost 41-33. Jorge Galvan scored eight of those points to finish the game with 10-points. Teammate James Walton hit 5-out of-6 free-throws in the fourth to help seal the deal. Walton totaled 12-points in the contest. Point guard Gary Escamilla managed 5-points along the way.
The team dedicated this win to their teammate Byron Lusk, Jr., aka Big Money B, who stayed with his family on this night. Thinking of their teammate, Italy’s players all wore tape on their wrists with ‘B$B’ written on the tape.
