Nina Jo Groark (nee Hoover), 79, of Sacramento, California died at home on January 18, 2015 of cancer. Nina was born on November 26, 1935 in Italy, Texas and graduated from Italy High School in 1954.

Our yellow rose of Texas was a loving wife and mother, and an adoring grandmother/great-grandmother. She was a teacher, a homemaker, an avid sewer and artist, and lately, a keen reader. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Martin, and her five children, Patrick (Cathy), Michael, Mark (Marilyn), Marty (Teri) and Tina. She is also survived by her sister, Altha McNeely of Italy, Texas, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Anna, her caregiver, for the loving care she provided to Mom, especially in her last days.

A private memorial will be held on Sunday, January 25.
