This past Friday and Saturday, February 6th and 7th, Jennifer Eaglen, teacher and sponsor for Italy High School’s FCCLA program, accompanied students competing in the Family Career and Community Leaders of America’s Regional Competition. These students came home with several awards and accolades. This year’s theme was ‘We Are Anchored in Success,’ and our Italy Gladiators proved that to be true. Of the 11 students who had entries, 9 will advance to state competition in Corpus Christi on April 8th-11th, 2015.

Those students include:
Chace McGinnis and Tia Russell – 1st place Sports Nutrition;
Julissa Hernandez, Ana Luna, and Halee Turner – 1st place Environmental Ambassador;
Zac Mercer – 1st place Teach and Train;
Marlen Hernandez, Kirby Nelson, and Kirsten Viator – 5th place Life Event Planning Junior.

Students will be making changes according to the judges’ feedback they’ve already received and hope to advance during state competition to compete at the FCCLA Nationals in July 2015, in Washington D.C.

Be sure to congratulate these students if you see them in town—Italy High School is proud of them and we know you are too!
