Melchor Martinez, age 54, passed away March 28, 2015 in Italy, Texas. He was born to Jose Angel and Dora (Garcia) Martinez. After an aggressive battle with cancer he was called home, with his family by his side. Mel was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a parishioner at Epiphany Mission Catholic Church, a passionate Catechists teacher and a former bank analyst for Bank of America for 19 years. Mel was a role model and an inspiration to many.

Survivors include his parents, Jose Angel and Dora Martinez; siblings, Elvira Martinez, Jose Martinez, Jr., Linda Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Elisa Martinez, Vincent Martinez, Lupe Ortega, Leticia Herrera; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; 34 nieces and nephews; 28 great nieces and nephews and growing. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Aurora Garcia.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6-9 PM with Rosary at 7PM at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie.

Services will be held Wednesday, 10 AM April 1, 2015, at the Epiphany Mission Catholic Church, 434 S. Ward Street, Italy. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
