Italy — After the egg hunters gathered at the front steps of the S.M. Dunlap Memorial Library Saturday morning, librarian Kathy French released the large group out across the library’s front lawn in search of candy filled eggs.

Smiling cheers quickly turned to focused little faces as the determined hunters divided and conquered. At a hopping-fast pace, Easter baskets, buckets and bags soon overflowed with colorful eggs.

After the great hunt, the children were invited inside for punch and cookies. Also inside, the younger egg hunters searched for eggs hidden in and around book cases and under chairs.

Before you could say, “Happy Easter Everybody,” the event had ended with everyone already looking forward to next year’s quest for Easter eggs at the Dunlap Library.

In loving memory of Ann Byers.
