Italy ISD bands earn accolades in OPS Competition

Congratulations to the Italy middle school and high school bands for their recent success in the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) competition. Both groups submitted recordings that have advanced past the region and area levels and will be judged at the state level on July 23 at the Texas Bandmasters Association convention.

The OPS competition is very similar to the Honor Band competition, but differs in a few variables. In the Honor Band contest, a band will submit an entire program; however in the OPS contest, a band submits recordings of one concert march and/or one or two pieces from the state prescribed music list.
