Maria Antonieta Sam, age 47, of Italy, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. She was born December 12, 1967 in Del Rio, Texas to Juan Pablo Perez and Sara Perez.

Maria graduated from Abilene High School in 1986. She married Roger D. Sam on June 25, 2005 in Waxahachie. She was a member of Southlake Baptist Church and a member of the Army Family Support Group. She loved the outdoors and spending time at the lake. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Roger D. Sam of Italy; daughter, Yesenia Hayes and husband Justin of Italy; two sons, Nick P. Sam and Thaddeus A. Sam; grandchildren, Gino Hayes and Noah Hayes; one sister, Gloria Hernandez and wife Kim and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 6 and Friday August 7, 2015 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie with Pastor Joseph Barrett and Victor Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Gaytan, Ricky Bryant, Isidro Delahoya, Jeremy Robbins, Travis Tenny and Danny Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Reyes Gaytan and Steve Taylor.
