Dennis Edward Whiteaker Sr., age 72, of Italy passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Charleton Methodist Hospital in Dallas. He was born on September 1, 1942 in Midland, Texas to Claude L. and Ruby Maye (Williams) Whiteaker. Dennis married Carolyn on December 15, 1960 in Midland, Texas, He worked in the oil fields for 45 years. Dennis loved bowling, reading and sports, his favorite teams were the Cowboys, Longhorns and Texas Rangers. He loved being with his family most of all.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Carolyn Whiteaker of Italy; daughter, Angela Stratton and husband Bobby of Red Oak; son, DuWayne Whiteaker and wife Robin of Farmersville; grandchildren, Patricia Aulbaugh and husband Jon, Amber Jenkins and husband Bryce, Tiffany Whiteaker, Cody Stratton and wife Kristen, Darl Whiteaker, Brianna Stratton, Brooke Whiteaker, Tristen Whiteaker; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Michael Whiteaker and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ruby Whiteaker, son Dennis E. Whiteaker, Jr., two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel with Mr. Walter Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
