Iva Ruth Gillespie, age 91, of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Waxahachie, Texas. She was born May 23, 1924 to Walter Jordan and Janie (Davis) Jordan in Files Valley, Texas. She worked as Assistant Chief Operator for the telephone company for over 30 years. She was a 60 year member of the Rebekah Lodge # 381 in Waxahachie.

Survivors include her brother, James Walter Jordan of Fort Worth; nephews, Eddie Lord of Waxahachie, Walter Eugene Lord of Rockwall, William Perry Lord and his wife Jerrin of Quinlan, Bob McEver and his wife Bonnie of Houston and Larry Jordan of Fort Worth; nieces, Diane McElroy and her husband Phil of Springdale, AR, Barbara Barrett of Fort Worth, Valerie, Patricia Kneupper, Janie Nelson and numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Gillespie; her sisters, Evelyn Lord, Della F. Laird, Blanche McEver, Margaret Kneupper and nephew Gerald Nelson.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Funeral services will be 10AM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie with Rev. Carol Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Burial Park.
