Obituary: John F. Davis, 1923 — 2015

Johnnie was born in Reagor Springs, Texas on April 12, 1923 and passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015 at the age of 92. He was a hard working, fair and honest man, and was proud to be a farmer and rancher. He loved his family, the land, the US Marines where he served on Guam during World War II, and his many friends.

Survivors include his wife Dawn Davis, Daughters: Sue Batte and husband Gary and Jane McBride. Five Grandchildren: Lori, John, Ronda, Amy and Melinda; Six Great Grandchildren: Garrett, Holden, Dillon, Clay, Kaylee and Pax, as well at two Great Great Grandchildren: Ryan and Elena. Also surviving are three step children, Colleen Goodloe, Kyle Bowler, Keira Maynard, and three step-granddaughters, Kelsey Richard, Morgan, and Sydney Maynard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jimmy, the mother of his children: Katie Davis Wimbish and one brother and one sister.

Johnnie, “Our lives will never be the same without you in it, but they are forever changed for the better, Because you were”. We Love You.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Hughes Cemetery in Avalon, Texas.
